Miriam Winsten is currently President of Mangrum Hill Associates, LLC, and a Schlumberger Professional Affiliate. Mangrum Hill Associates is a boutique consulting firm offering turnkey consulting on all aspects of energy sustainability with a focus on building and maintaining measurable and effective corporate sustainability initiatives and reporting.

Miriam has held various management positions during her career at Schlumberger. She was the Director, Global Social Responsibility, ESG Reporting and Principal Geologist Her previous positions were Technology Engagement Director and Global Accounts Manager. She served as the DCS North Gulf Coast Operations Manager where she supervised a diverse team of experts in geological, geophysical and engineering consulting, data services, geomechanics, borehole seismic, and engineering solutions. She has more than 40 years in the oil and gas industry working with Schlumberger since 2001, including deep water and unconventional play experience.

For eight years, Miriam held an adjunct faculty position at The University of Findlay, teaching Geology and Chemistry courses in conjunction with the Hazardous Material Management Program .

She began her oilfield career as a geologist with Marathon Oil Company where she was responsible for prospect generation and evaluation, exploitation, and field studies for onshore and offshore shelf and deep-water Gulf of Mexico.

As a long-standing member of the geological community, Miriam feels it is important to devote time to an organization that has played an integral role in her profession. She believes it is essential to encourage professionals to become active members of AAPG and lend their support to the meetings, conventions, training, and other programs, where they can actively participate in the discussions and decision-making around the energy challenges facing the industry today and in the future.

Miriam has written articles and abstracts for multiple publications. 

She is the co-creator of Offshore Drilling: The Promise of Discovery, the exhibit at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum in Houston, Texas.
