Matthew Brzostowski

Chief Geophysicist

Over the past seven years, Matthew has been the Chief Geophysicist for Schlumberger’s WesternGeco and manages a group of over one hundred technical experts.  His primary management tasks include project scheduling, resourcing and client communication for energy exploration and development involving seismic data.

Matthew has served as Senior Vice President for Operations and R&D within GXT Technology and Senior Vice President for R&D within PGS.  In these roles, he collaborated with clients (including IOCs and NOCs) on oil and gas projects and managed a $20M budget.

An AAPG Foundation Trustee, Matthew’s passion for geology is evident in his contributions to the next generation through BSA and GSA volunteer activities and his establishment of several university scholarship endowments for undergraduate and graduate students studying the geosciences. 

Matthew has written numerous articles and abstracts for various publications.
