The Latin America and Caribbean Region Student and Young Professional Chapter Leadership Summit is an initiative developed by geoscientists leaders representing the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Latin America and the Caribbean Region (AAPG LACR).

Since 2013, the AAPG Leadership Summit has brought students from throughout the Latin America and the Caribbean Region together for three intensive professional and personal development sessions and training in leadership, communications, ethics, and service.

Starting in 2022, the Summit expanded to include participation from Young Professionals representing AAPG’s International Regions (Africa, Asia-Pacific, Canada, Europe, Middle East) and United States Sections. This multicultural participation helps participants strengthen their global network, develop leadership skills, and prepare themselves for the challenges that they will face as professionals in the energy sector.

Celebrating its 11th anniversary in 2025, the Leadership Summit takes place 3-5 October, immediately following AAPG's International Conference and Exhibition (ICE Rio 2025), taking place in the Windsor Barra Convention and Expo Center 30 September - October 3.

1. Summit Sponsors - Support the event directly through one of 7 sponsorship levels

Summit Sponsors make the event possible by providing all materials, simultaneous translation equipment, meals, housing, and airfare for all Summit participants. Summit Sponsor dollars received will be allocated to the areas of greatest need.

2. Country Sponsors - Sponsor the participation of the student and YP

Your company also has the option to sponsor the participation of one student and one young professional from your country. Doing so guarantees that young leaders from your country attend the event and provides a direct investment in your future workforce.

Country Sponsorships include all benefits corresponding to the Gold Level Summit Sponsorship and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

3. Region Sponsors - Sponsor the participation of a YP from outside the LACR

Your company also has the option to support the Summit through sponsoring the participation of a young professional coming from outside the Latin America and Caribbean Region3. Region Sponsorships include all benefits corresponding to the Silver Level Summit Sponsorship and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
